Texas Bluebonnet Newborn Session|Austin Birth + Maternity Photographer

“Babies & Bluebonnets”

A dreamy bluebonnet newborn session fell into our laps shorty after Carly had her second sweet baby boy. An outdoor newborn session was already part of our plan for the spring but we were beyond excited when we realized that there would likely be some bluebonnets blooming by the time we got something on the calendar. We headed out to Old Settlers Park in Round Rock where we found a host of Texas springtime wildflowers: rows and rows of Bluebonnets both blue and maroon along with Indian Paintbrush.

We took our time to capture all the in-between moments of snuggling, nursing, tickling and frolicking through the fields as a family of four as the sun just barely poked through the overcast sky, casting the most beautiful light for a sunset session.

Most children don’t enjoy sitting and smiling for pictures for an hour so I always make sure to keep our session fun with music, movement, and prompts to do as a family. Not only does it keep the kids engaged and entertained, but it makes for the most authentic and memorable session. When you look back at your session gallery you’ll not only have memories of your once small(er) family, but you’ll know that the moments in the photos were real.
